We understand the meaningful role desserts play in celebrations, and we approach each order with care and intention. We pour creativity, quality ingredients, and a whole lot of love into everything we bake. With high standards and a passion for great service, we’re here to make your moments extra special (and extra delicious).
Our Story
Hi! I’m Kat Moorman, a 22-year-old self-taught baker with a love for all things delicious. My passion for baking started in the kitchen with my grandma, where we’d enjoy fresh bread, lick batter off the whisk, and sneak her famous frosting on crackers. She taught me many baking basics, and the spark truly ignited when I was 14.
That year, I fell head over heels for baking. I binge-watched cake decorating videos, followed talented bakers online, and soaked up every bit of baking inspiration I could find. Before long, I launched Kat’s Kakes on Instagram and started taking custom orders from family and friends—then from the wider local community.
Balancing baking with college life wasn’t always easy. Without consistent kitchen access or time to market myself in a new city, I had to slow things down—but I never stopped baking completely. I still made treats for friends and special occasions whenever I could.
In April 2025, I graduated college, and now I’m excited to turn my lifelong passion into a full-time career. Thank you so much for stopping by, and I hope Kat’s Kakes can be part of your next celebration!
